Basic Salary: £28,000 + Uncapped Commission, OTE Up to £40,000

The Package:


  • £28,000 basic salary 
  • Realistic OTE up to £40,000 
  • Uncapped commission, with the opportunity to earn up to £1,000 per month

  • Mon-Fri 9am – 5.30pm (5pm finish on a Friday), with 2 Saturdays per month 10am – 2pm, and time off in lieu during the week.



The Company & Role:


Harte Recruitment is working with an established residential property business looking for a proactive Lettings Negotiator to join its Leeds City Centre operation. 


You'll manage the lettings journey from initial enquiry through to move-in, registering applicants, conducting viewings, negotiating offers and keeping landlords and tenants informed throughout. 


This isn't just about handling incoming enquiries. You'll also be generating new business, identifying opportunities for market appraisals and instructions, and building relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals. 



The Person:


  • Previous residential lettings experience preferred, although candidates with transferable sales skills will be considered 
  • Confident conducting viewings and negotiating offers 
  • Commercially minded and motivated by targets and commission 
  • Proactive in generating new business and building relationships 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
  • Organised, with strong attention to detail and administrative ability 
  • Comfortable working in a busy, target-driven environment 
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence (essential) and your own car (preferable) 



The Lettings Negotiator Role:

 

  • Register applicants, qualify requirements and match them with suitable properties 
  • Arrange and conduct property viewings 
  • Negotiate offers between landlords and prospective tenants 
  • Manage applicant enquiries and maintain regular database contact 
  • Progress tenancies from offer acceptance through referencing, deposits and move-in 
  • Keep landlords updated on viewings, feedback and prospective tenants 
  • Generate opportunities for market appraisals, new instructions and lets 
  • Assist with valuations and market appraisals as experience develops 
  • Maintain accurate records, property listings and CRM systems 
  • Ensure tenancy processes meet relevant legislation and compliance requirements 
  • Promote relevant additional services and maximise business opportunities 
  • Deliver excellent customer service while achieving agreed performance targets
