So, what did I suggest to this guy? Leave his job so I could find another opportunity for him? See his potential and try and match him up with a new company when he relocated? Not a chance... When I spoke to him it was clear that he was still committed to his work and his employer. This lovely man had worked for a national estate agency for over ten years and was still really passionate about it. He wasn’t looking for a new role in Manchester because he’d fallen out of love with his job. He wanted to move because he’d fallen in love and his life was changing. 🤎 The funny thing is, another Recruiter he’d already spoken to instantly put him forward for a new role without even doing a video call with him (that’s another post entirely!) 🙄. But when I spoke to him, I thought there were so many layers that hadn’t been considered and should be looked at more closely. I asked him if his Director knew about his situation and whether relocating to the Manchester office was an option. He was hesitant at first because there weren’t any vacancies advertised, but I told him to give it a go because sometimes roles come up that aren’t yet advertised, or even better, they might create one! I’m so glad he took my advice because he sent me the loveliest voice note thanking me for my help and to tell me a new role in Manchester had been created for him. 🙌 From a personal point of view, it’s brilliant that he got the ‘absolute perfect outcome’ for his career and romantic life. From a professional perspective, I’m really proud that another Recruiter didn’t recognise the potential of the situation, or take the time to find out, but we did. 💪

If you’re going to tell the world you’ve done some training in a healing technique that has emotional benefits, you may as well do it during Mental Health Awareness Week, right? Reiki is a gentle energy therapy that can help you cope with stress, illness, and life challenges. I am learning how Reiki can promote relaxation, balance, harmony and positive choices, and how it works. For those of you who already know what Reiki is, I’ve now completed my Level 1 certificate (with ‘star student’ status), and I’m honestly really over the moon. 🙏 I love Reiki because it’s very energy focused and helps to restore balance and clarity. ⚖️ It also really helps if I’m feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. We’re all energy based, so the more we’re in tune with ourselves and our energies, the better. 💫 Everyday life asks a lot of us, so I’m a big believer in finding something that helps and sticking with it. I can’t wait for level 2.
