Fall in love with your job this Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day, the most romantic day of the year, is just around the corner. The shops are filled with cards and gifts designed to help you to let your partner know just how much you love them.

Now, let's shift our focus to a different kind of love – the love you have for your job. Similar to the stages in our relationships with our partners, our bond with our jobs undergoes various phases.

There's the initial encounter (when you first see the job advert), asking them on a first date (applying for the role), courtship (the interview), commitment (signing the contract), the honeymoon phase (adoring every aspect of your job), complacency (taking your job for granted), boredom (losing interest in your job and starting to look at other roles), and finally, the break-up (handing in your notice).

If your relationship with your job has reached the complacency or boredom stage, perhaps it's time to revitalise your relationship with it by making some changes that will benefit both you and your employer. Whether it's asking for new responsibilities, making a sideways move to broaden your experience, training to improve your skill set or applying for an in house promotion, changes, however small, can reignite your love for your job.

If after making some changes you still feel like your relationship with your job cannot be saved then it is time to look for a new role.

Recruitment consultants are the matchmakers of the employment world so if you have reached the end of your relationship with your current role then I will gladly help you to handle your break-up and help you to find a new relationship with a new role with empathy and sensitivity.

I can help you find a role that you can fall in love with and give you advice on how to break-up with your old job and part on amicable terms.

Love can't be rushed. Some candidates receive a job offer after a first interview, experiencing love at first sight, while others may need several interviews before an employer decides to commit – a testament to the gradual growth of affection.

I can help to guide you through the entire process. No matter how lucky or unlucky in love you are I will help you to find your perfect new role.

One thing is definitely true. If you trust me to help you find your perfect new role, you will fall head over heels in love with my service and care.

If you are ready to fall in love with a new role in 2024 then give me a call on 07540 770679 or send me an email to suzie@harte-consulting.co.uk and I will make sure that you find a role that you love and an employer who loves you too.

Current Roles

By Elliot Landy April 30, 2025
How many times have you felt like you’re surrounded by idiots? There might be a very good reason for this (unless they are certified idiots, then you’re screwed!). 🥴 At Harte, we frequently refer to Persona Profiling, which uses four colours (red, blue, yellow and green) to identify individual traits so we can develop a better understanding of ourselves and others. From a recruitment point of view, this helps to define a job seeker’s characteristics and assess whether they’d be suited to a role or fit in with a business’s culture. Someone who is a ‘fiery red’ for example, will be results-orientated, strong-willed, and driven to achieve, whereas a ‘cool blue’ personality will have a more conventional energy that thrives on analysis and asking questions before making a move. Knowing this sort of information makes finding the right ‘fit’ for a company a whole lot easier because we have a clear idea of the traits and behaviours that are aligned with the role. It also gives us an indication of when we need to take a step back and slow things down in interviews to really get to know the job-seeker properly. If you’re keen to find out more about the four personality types, have a read of (or listen to) this book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Surrounded-Idiots-Behavior-Effectively-Communicate/dp/1250179947 Do you know what energy colour you lead by?
