The Company & Role:
Harte Recruitment is working with a growing Manchester property business to appoint a Property Client Accounts Executive to manage the day-to-day financial administration of its managed portfolio.
This isn't traditional bookkeeping or corporate accounting. Your focus is property client money: rent in, payments out, accurate records, arrears controlled and landlords kept informed. You’ll work closely with Lettings and Property Management rather than operating as a separate accounts function.
The Person:
- Experience within lettings, property management, property accounts or client accounting
- Experience reconciling rent or client-money transactions
- Understanding of landlord and tenant financial transactions
- Strong numerical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident chasing arrears and discussing money professionally
- Comfortable communicating with landlords, tenants, contractors and colleagues
- Organised, proactive and confident managing recurring deadlines
- Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems
- Able to work independently while being a collaborative team member
- PayProp experience advantageous, not essential
- Accounting qualifications such as AAT welcomed but not essential
The Property Client Accounts Executive Role:
- Reconcile rents, allocate receipts and investigate payment discrepancies
- Process landlord payments, statements and finance queries
- Monitor and chase rent arrears, payment promises and arrangements
- Escalate persistent arrears and support formal tenancy action where required
- Process contractor/supplier invoices and resolve payment queries
- Manage service charges, ground rent, utilities, void council tax, maintenance and other property expenditure
- Maintain accurate portfolio financial records
- Investigate unusual transactions and discrepancies
- Keep landlords and the wider property team informed
- Use PayProp, the property CRM and internal systems
- Take ownership of property financial administration, allowing Lettings and Property Management colleagues to focus on their core roles
