The Company and Role Purpose:
Harte Recruitment is offering an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment / Customer Service Apprentice to join our fast-paced, supportive and people-focused Huddersfield team. This is a hands-on apprenticeship role designed for someone who wants to build real-world skills, gain responsibility over time, and develop a long-term career within recruitment and professional services.
You’ll work in a professional office environment, supporting day-to-day operations across the business while completing a Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship. This Recruitment / Customer Service Apprentice role offers variety, exposure to multiple areas of the business, and the chance to grow with us as the company evolves.
The Package:
- Salary: £7.55 per hour for the first 12 months (National Apprenticeship Rate)
- Potential for increase subject to budget, performance and apprenticeship progress
- Rate increases to £8.00 per hour from 1 April 2026
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Training:
- Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship
- One paid study day per week (Wednesday)
- Combination of face-to-face and online learning via Kirklees College
Future Prospects:
- Strong potential for a permanent role upon successful completion
- Further training or apprenticeship opportunities may be available
The Recruitment / Customer Service Apprentice Role:
This is a varied and evolving apprenticeship role where you’ll support the wider team while building core administrative, customer service and organisational skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Welcoming visitors and handling enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
- Answering and managing telephone calls confidently and courteously
- Providing refreshments for visitors when required
- Accurately inputting and maintaining data on internal systems
- Supporting colleagues across the business as needed
- Responding to requests for information in a timely manner
- Assisting with administration, marketing, social media and AI-led processes
- Following company policies, with particular focus on confidentiality, equality and best practice
Alongside your day-to-day role, you will:
- Attend all inductions, lessons and work-based training sessions
- Complete assignments within agreed deadlines
- Build and maintain a portfolio of evidence
- Take part in end-point assessment activities including portfolio, interview and practical observation
This role will grow with you, offering increasing responsibility as your confidence and skills develop.
The Person:
- Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (essential)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A polite, clear and professional telephone manner
- Strong IT skills, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to work to deadlines and meet targets
- Confidence using email and the internet
- Enthusiastic, friendly and approachable
- Punctual with a good attendance record
- Willing to learn and open to feedback
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
